DENVER, Colo. (247marketnews.com) — Mentari Therapeutics is making a major statement in the biotechnology sector, announcing a $200 million private placement that, when combined with its previously announced $290 million financing, brings total committed capital to approximately $490 million ahead of its planned merger with InMed Pharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:INM). The financing underscores growing investor interest in next-generation migraine therapies and provides the company with substantial resources to advance its clinical pipeline over the coming years.

The latest financing attracted a broad syndicate of prominent healthcare investors, including Fairmount, ADAR1 Capital Management, Venrock Healthcare Capital Partners, Sirenia Capital Management, Janus Henderson Investors, Blackstone Multi-Asset Investing, RTW Investments, Deep Track Capital, Vivo Capital, Commodore Capital and BB Biotech. According to the company, the additional capital is expected to extend Mentari’s cash runway into 2029, supporting development through anticipated Phase 2a readouts for its two lead PACAP-targeted migraine prevention programs, including MT-002, while also advancing the broader pipeline.

The financing is expected to close immediately before Mentari’s merger with InMed Pharmaceuticals and concurrently with the previously announced $290 million private placement. Upon completion of the transaction, the combined company will operate under the Mentari Therapeutics name and trade on the Nasdaq Capital Market under a new ticker symbol, which has not yet been announced.

Migraine remains one of the world’s most prevalent neurological disorders, affecting millions of patients globally and creating a significant commercial opportunity for companies developing novel preventive therapies. While current CGRP-targeting medicines have transformed portions of the migraine treatment landscape, researchers continue exploring additional biological pathways, including PACAP (pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating peptide), that may provide new treatment options for patients who continue to experience debilitating migraines despite existing therapies.

With nearly half a billion dollars in committed financing expected upon completion of the merger and related financings, Mentari appears positioned to aggressively advance its clinical programs while maintaining financial flexibility through multiple anticipated development milestones. As always, investors should recognize that clinical-stage biotechnology companies remain subject to significant clinical, regulatory and commercialization risks, and the merger and financing transactions remain subject to customary closing conditions.
