DENVER, Colo. (247marketnews.com) — Lianhe Sowell International Group (NASDAQ:LHSW) is putting a potentially powerful distribution channel behind its intelligent-equipment ambitions: a strategic cooperation agreement with Kumquat Technology, a Chery Group subsidiary described by Lianhe Sowell as the operating entity for Chery’s nationwide network of roughly 1,000 4S stores.

Under the agreement, Lianhe Sowell will provide complete intelligent operating equipment covering 24 automotive aftermarket processes, while Kumquat Technology will provide supporting parts and leverage its network to promote the solutions to partner stores and downstream customers. Demonstration sites are also planned, giving prospective customers a chance to see the equipment in operation.

“We are pleased to establish this strategic cooperation with Kumquat Technology and expand the application of our intelligent equipment solutions across the automotive aftermarket,” CEO and Director Yue Zhu said.

The timing puts the announcement squarely in a rapidly digitizing Chinese auto-service market. Industry organizers behind the 2026 Auto Maintenance and Repair Expo have highlighted remote monitoring, preventative diagnostics, electronic inspections and automated maintenance as technologies reshaping aftermarket operations. They also point to the growing importance of new-energy-vehicle maintenance, where diagnostics, battery inspection and other technology-intensive services are becoming increasingly relevant.

For LHSW, the Chery relationship arrives after a year of major corporate and operating developments. Fiscal 2026 revenue rose 18% to $43.27 million, although gross margin declined to 21% and the company posted a $5.65 million net loss as operating expenses jumped 148%, according to its August results.

The company has also been moving aggressively to strengthen its capital position and expand its technology footprint. In September, LHSW closed an $11 million follow-on offering intended to fund product R&D, market expansion, working capital and other corporate purposes.

Now the company is attempting to connect those investments to a much larger commercial opportunity: turning intelligent equipment from individual deployments into a scalable aftermarket model. Lianhe Sowell says the partners also intend to explore overseas opportunities, with Kumquat leading market development and operations while LHSW supplies products and technical support.
